چکیده

Abstract Background Euphorbia jolkinii Boiss. is a perennial species native to Jeju Island and the southern coastal area of Korea. Particularly on Island, yellow flowers E. have high ornamental value because their contrast with basalt. This study was conducted investigate effects different temperatures (5, 15, 20, 25 °C) gibberellic acid (GA 3 ) concentrations (0, 10, 100, or 1000 mg/L) seed dormancy germination . In addition, we classified type compared types those other in same genus. Results The number seeds viable embryos endosperms approximately 66%. final percentages at 5, °C were 51.7%, 83.5%, 2.6%, 0.0%, respectively. GA concentration experiments, 0, mg/L 91.7%, 79.1%, 83.4%, respectively, 15 conditions, 6.9%, 13.2%, 27.3%, °C. Conclusions Germination improved lower. Furthermore, treatment effectively reduced times. Thus, jolkinni as having non-deep physiological dormancy.

Physiological epicotyl dormancy and recalcitrant storage behaviour in seeds of two tropical Fabaceae (subfamily Caesalpinioideae) species

BACKGROUND AND AIMS Physiological epicotyl dormancy in which the epicotyl elongates inside the seed before the shoot emerges has been reported for only a few tropical rainforest species, all of which are trees that produce recalcitrant seeds. In studies on seeds of Fabaceae in Sri Lanka, we observed a considerable time delay in shoot emergence following root emergence in seeds of the introduced...
